The Surge Protection Circuit has been revised to comply with updated British Standard BS1363/A that only allows protection components to be introduced between Live -Neutral and Live-Earth , with a Gas Discharge Tube(GDT) embedded between Live and Earth. A GDT is required for safety reasons . This layout allows the product to comply with the new UKCA Marking order for basic plastic extension leads with Surge Protection.
